Savings Series: Road tripping

Wanting to get the most out of your member benefits? We've created a series to help you maximise your savings every day. We recently headed on a school holidays trip down the Peninsula and found these great ways to save.

Getting away

If you’re heading on a long trip you might want to give your car a once over. There’s plenty of service partners around the state to help or simply pick up supplies from your local Repco.  Save on fuel with United or check the price of where you’re heading to with our Fuel Saver app – we were pleasantly surprised to see fuel a good 5 cents cheaper in Port Arthur and Lewisham.

Before you head off, stock up with Woolworths Group eGift Cards. You can stock up on snacks for the car, cheese board goodies and drinks for when the kids have gone to bed and even camping goods if you’re roughing it outdoors.

Places to stay

We were a bit too late booking to grab any deals, however you can book at the NRMA Port Arthur Holiday Park and grab an Auto Club discount. Simply quote your membership number when booking via phone or upon check in to get your discount.

If you’re wanting a portable home check out Apollo for a number of member deals.

Where to play

We logged into Experience Oz as soon as we knew where we were headed and got tickets on a Tasman Island Cruise with Pennicott Wilderness Journeys for a discounted price. There are other seasonal tours around as well, depending on what you’re wanting to do.

If you want to make some stops on the way there, be sure to check out our member rewards pages and see where you can save.

Overall, we saved so much we basically got a dinner free for the family on our journey, plus it was so easy booking tours beforehand and not having to line up or drop in on the way through.

Save more. Every day.
