Home and Contents Calculators
Not sure how to value your home and contents? We've rounded up the best calculators to help you choose the right amount of cover.
How to value your home and contents
Around half of Australians undervalue their home and contents, getting caught out when the worst happens. We want to help you avoid this with these home and contents calculators. In just a few clicks, they'll give you an estimate of the current replacement costs.
Tip! Don't forget to reassess your needs at renewal, to make sure you still have the right level of cover.
Keep track of your belongings
It’s a good idea to keep an up-to-date inventory of your belongings. It’ll make it easier when calculating how much insurance cover you need. Ensure you capture details such as:
Item description
Date of purchase, and purchase value
Photographs and / or receipts
For precious heirlooms or antiques, consider whether a valuation may assist in knowing how much cover you need
Make sure you save your contents inventory online, and keep a paper copy in a fireproof safe or in a safe place outside your home. Don’t forget to update it with any new purchases or upgrades.
