Keeping our team and members safe with Pi-Lits

We have recently rolled out Pi-Lits, an innovative safety technology that’s already making a big difference on our roads

Roadside incidents can be dangerous, but we’re always looking for ways to make them safer. That’s why we’ve introduced Pi-Lits—portable, high-visibility safety lights designed to protect our Roadside Assistance teams and members.

These lights are quick and easy to set up, creating a clear and visible barrier around the scene of an incident. This helps alert oncoming traffic to slow down, give space, and approach with caution.

When our teams arrive at an incident, they place the Pi-Lits strategically to mark out a secure work zone. This doesn’t just make the area more visible—it also helps reduce the risk of secondary collisions, keeping everyone safer.

After a successful trial earlier this year, Pi-Lits are now part of our standard safety equipment across the state. Our patrol teams feel more confident knowing they have this extra layer of protection, and our members appreciate the added visibility and reassurance that every possible precaution is being taken.

By adopting new technologies like Pi-Lits, we’re improving emergency response and making Tasmania’s roads safer for everyone.
