Now you're on the road
This 1 hour presentation will give your Grade 11/12 students knowledge and tools to survive their provisional license andmaking safer choices on the road. Topics discussed include licencing restrictions and responsibilities, distractions and how they impact your ability to drive safely and how to build resilience on the road.
Youth Showcase
We're highlighting the importance of making safe choices when getting your drivers licence through our pilot youth event for Grade 10, 11 and 12 students.
Students will gain exposure to being behind the wheel in our driver training cars accompanied by our driving instructors and gain important insights from industry experts including Tasmania Police and St John Ambulance.
Dangers of distracted driving
Did you know that road safety experts believe using a smartphone when driving is just as risky as speeding or drink driving?
It might not be you that uses your phone while driving, but you might find yourself in a car with someone that does. Either way, we’d all feel safer if people didn’t do it anymore!
‘Drive in the Moment’ is a tool to help you identify the moments when you're tempted to reach for your phone. We all know bad habits are hard to break, but it can be done!
Do you know the road rules?
Before you get in the car you'll need to know and understand the road rules.
These rules are about keeping people safe - motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists.
Watch the helpful videos developed by the Department of State Growth to help drivers, both new and experienced, understand the Tasmanian road rules.
