Our club run
We paid homage to our automobile club roots and re-created our first club run.
Back to where it all began
We began as a car club, and we’re proud to recognise the vital role that you, our members have played in preserving our automobile roots. Paying homage to our car enthusiast members, our centenary year concluded with the recreation of our first club run. By inviting our members to take a step back in time, we drove in convoy from Hobart to New Norfolk with heritage and special-interest vehicles including our RACT fleet vehicles, the 1954 Holden FJ Van and the 1980 Ford Escort.
The journey began at Government House in Hobart and culminated at the Esplanade in New Norfolk, echoing the route our members took in 1923. This event was a wonderful way to reminisce about the past and commemorate the rich history and traditions of RACT.
Following the drive, convoy participants had the opportunity to view the classic cars on display and enjoy afternoon tea under the trees. We’re proud to be on the journey with our members. Then. Now. Tomorrow.
