Tasmania offers a number of holiday spots, close to home or further afield. Whether you're looking for a quick getaway during the Easter long weekend or planning a more extended stay for the school holidays, we've got you covered. The hardest choice is deciding where to visit first.

Tamar Valley

Location: If you're looking for something close by, the Tamar valley is just 15 minutes from Launceston.

Want to immerse yourself in the Tamar Valley, then don't miss out on the vineyards and lavender fields, and make sure to soak in the stunning scenic views along the Tamar River. Accommodation options range from luxury retreats and historic cottages to beautiful stays among the vines.

Bridport

Location: A little further afield, roughly 1 hour from Launceston.

Stanley

Location: If you're choosing to stay somewhere for a little longer, Stanley is a great pick and is located 3 hours from Launceston.

The charm, history and food of Stanley will beg you to stay longer. The food scene is not to be missed with Hursey Seafoods offering fresh local seafood and the pub or wine bar being the perfect spot for a home-cooked comfort meal.

Bruny Island

Location: The 20-minute ferry departs from Kettering, which is about a 45-minute drive from Hobart.

Bruny is loved by locals and tourists alike. It's famous for its rugged coastline, wildlife and artisan food products. Stay in a cosy cottage or seaside cabin for a true island getaway or if you're a lover of camping, there's the local caravan park to pitch a tent or park the caravan.

Port Arthur

Location: Designed for longer road trips, approximately 1.5 hours from Hobart.
